This method is fairly simple and straightforward, no terminal or coding required, just use this simple tool graphical interface to create your own bootable USB installer.

You will need:
– Install OS X Mountain Lion.app from the app store or the InstallESD.dmg from it.
– An External Hard Drive or USB Flash Drive with min. 8GB of space.

– Working OS X 10.6 or newer to prepare your installation device (this can be a real mac, a hackintosh, or windows with OS X virtual machine).

OK, so first plug your USB drive to working Os X 10.6 or later, open Disk Utility from /Applications/Utilities and select your USB Disk from the left menu.
