Microsoft Autoupdate Stuck
Aug 31, 2019 It shows that Microsoft will help you to upgrade your Microsoft applications and collect required data to Microsoft. There is only one OK button, it means that you can’t reject the notice. But even worse, once you clicked ok button, your mac computer fan will stop running and then it will load 100% CPU before it shuts down. If the Windows 10 update is at 91%, remains, or hangs, then the solution is very simple to continue the auto update! Pretty annoying, if the autoupdate hangs at 91% on Windows 10, it does not happen very often, but I've had it several times. Then I disconnected the Windows 10 computer from the Internet. That’s probably a good thing, overall. There’s plenty of evidence that update failures leave folks vulnerable. Note that I’m saying “update failures,” rather than “failure to update”, because updates fail.
For example, today, I’m being harangued over an Excel update. Trouble is, I’ve tried to install it, and MAU is failing to install it for reasons that aren’t obvious even after I looked at the log files.
If you’re having this problem, you can fix it by opening a terminal, and running these commands:
Microsoft Autoupdate Mac Stuck Installing
cd $TMPDIR
ls -ltd MSau* |head
In one of those directories will be a file Excel_16.47.21031401_to_16.47.21032301_Delta.pkg . Run that. I don’t know why the updater is failing, and it’s unclear if MAU is sending telemetry back.
