P90x3

  • I probably like X3 the best out of all of them (p90xPlus a close 2nd, but it is a supplemental to the P90x). I end up rotating between P90x, P90x+, P90X3 and to a lesser extent X2, depending on mood, time and the workout. For instance, I always do the X3 Yoga over the original because I can't do the 90s minutes.
  • What I have put together below is a 7 day example of my P90X3 meal plan. My intake is set to 2400 calories per day and I have matched the P90X3 Nutrition Plan macros, which are 30% proteins, 40% carbs, and 30% fats (30/40/30). These are what work best for me! These kinds of meals might not agree with your taste buds, but it will give a good.
  • P90X3 removes even more restrictions and gives you additional tools not only to guide you toward intuitive eating, but to make healthy meal planning a simple, quick affair. In my opinion, if you want something with a lot of structure all laid out for you, P90X is the way to go.

P90X3 is Different, and that’s a Good Thing

P90x3 cuts out the flab and gets to the meat of the routines, but is it everything it’s cracked up to be?

Lost 32lbs with P90X3! Before Kim started the P90X3 workouts, she felt self-conscious and desperate to lose weight. The death of her father sparked her to get healthy, and her family was such a help. She loved that the workouts were just 30 minutes a day too so! In addition to the program, she used Shakeology to get her results.

The P90x series has been wildly successful selling millions of copies. So what’s the secret behind the ever-popular P90X?

The secret is simple – Get the body you want in only 90 days. It’s a time limit in other words.

But there’s an even greater secret that has propelled the new P90x3 to the forefront.

P90x3

The secret to the P90X3 success is the other time limit – Only 30 minutes.

It’s the 30 minute time limit on the workouts in P90X3 that has so many people excited they’re bowling over each other trying to buy it. Okay, maybe a little exaggeration there, but you get the picture.

I’ve been punching air and chatarangering (it’s a yoga thing) with Tony Horton since Power90, and I have to say that P90X3 is my favorite exercise package that Tony has released.

Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty:

Advantages:

The Workouts Start Faster – Little to no Downtime

Tons of time is saved by making the warm up fast.

If you’re really starting on a January morning and it’s 2 below outside and you’re in your garage, then use the Cold Start option at the beginning of each DVD.

Otherwise, you’re off to a quick start with P90X3 which is a big improvement over other and even past P90X workouts.

Down Time is Minimized

The workouts pack a punch and break times are reduced. You’re break is when the workout is done.

That’s not to say it’s 30 minutes of 100%, because that’s not good for you.

The workouts do it right by giving a good sense of interval training. You switch muscle groups by switching exercises.

A change is as good as a break.

I love the various workouts in P90X3. Each one is a separate 30 minute workout:

Resistance Workouts

  • Total Synergistics
  • The Challenge
  • Incinerator
  • The Warrior
  • Eccentric Upper
  • Eccentric Lower

Power Workouts

  • Agility X
  • Triometrics
  • Decelerator

Cardio Workouts

  • CVX
  • MMX
  • Accelerator

Core, Flexibility & Balance Workouts

  • X3 Yoga
  • Pilates X
  • Isometrix
  • Dynamix

That’s a lot more variety than good ol’ P90 and still a lot more variety than P90x. Hello, Pilates, Isometrix and Dynamix to name a few.

With the P90x, P90X3 opens up a whole new world (cue song) of possibilities.

I had an injury (not p90x related, I stubbed and broke 3, yes 3 toes in two different instances), and I made use of the P90X3 variety of workouts during my “recovery” time.

Does P90x3 Work? Check Results that you will not Believe

P90x3 is the the secret to getting results. So what’s the secret?

The Secret Sauce, Only 30 Minutes per Workout

P90X and P90X2 workouts were awesome, I loved them, and I plan to go back to some original P90X workouts for the jokes (I mean the added variety since I still have my P90X DVDs.)

However, the secret sauce of P90X3 is really that the workouts are fast. There are a couple of minutes of cool down after the 30 minutes FYI, and it’s a welcomed couple of minutes.

You might think, but yeah, you don’t get as good of a workout, well, you can judge for yourself, but I’ve felt that the difficulty and cardio benefits of P90X3 outmatch the previous workout regimes.

You really feel it with P90X3 because the intensity it turned out, the down time is turned down, and the movements have been refined.

P90x3

Yoga, while great in P90X, was super long. In P90X3, it’s packed in thirty minutes.

Tony has had a lot of time to refine, refine, refine these workouts, and P90X3 is the culmination of those efforts.

P90x3log

Drawbacks of P90X3

Now, there are a couple drawbacks of P90X3.

Ab Workout

The base kit doesn’t come with an ab routine.

Yep, you heard that right. The base P90X3 kit does not include an ab routine (notice routine vs workout).

Your abs do get worked as part of the whole fitness regime of P90X3.

But if you want the separate ab workout, you have to buy the Deluxe or Ultimate kits.

Complex Upper, Complex Lower and X3 Ab Ripper Workouts are three workouts that come with the Deluxe and Ultimate kits.

You can buy the Elite Block (as it is called) separate, but if you need the equipment and options of the Deluxe or Ultimate kits, buy it together.

I got the P90X3 Base Kit, and have loved it. My wife bought it for me (a sweet gift bytheway).

I later bought the separate Ab Ripper workout, and love it.

Here are your options. Get the Base Kit, and Just Buy the Elite Block with Ab Ripper Disc to go a long with it. This works great if you don’t need the equipment that comes with the other two kits.

If you need the equipment, then it makes much more sense to get the Ultimate or Deluxe kits which include the Ab Ripper workout disc.

You can get the Ab Ripper as part of the Deluxe kit, or if you need the equipment too, go with the Ultimate.

Which brings us to…

Your Equipment Needs

Yes you do need some equipment.

I tried doing P90X with just the exercise bands, but you really want a pull-up bar for maximum results.

Base Kit: Comes with not equipment (and doesn’t have the Ab Ripper)

Deluxe Kit: Comes with Ab Ripper and Exercise bands that can double as weights/pull-up)

Ultimate Kit: Comes with everything in the Deluxe kit plus the pull-up bar (and other goodies). Everything you need in one package.

I already owned a pull-up bar, so I didn’t need the Ultimate Kit, but if you don’t have a pull-up bar, I highly recommend getting one whether with the Ultimate Kit or separately.

Is the extra equipment required? Absolutely not. But I decided to get a pull-up bar and saw tons better results.

The pull-up bar locks into a standard-sized door frame. You do your pull-ups and then easily take it down. It’s not a permanent fixture.

Workout Rotation

The last drawback is not really a drawback, but it bears mentioning.

With such good variety in the workouts, you may find one that you really like, but it’s only repeated for a few weeks to make room for the other workouts. So if there’s one or two workouts that you’d like to do more often, modify your schedule or double up one day every once and a while. For example, CVX doesn’t go past week 8.

So if you find one you really like, don’t be a afraid to modify the schedule to fit your needs.

P90x3 vs …

A gym membership?

Tried that, didn’t work. P90X3 is easy to get into the habit.

It’s just 30 minutes a day. There’s no commute to the gym on a cold morning.

There’s no waiting around for an exercise machine.

Other Workout Regimes?

Tony is 55 in P90X3. Yep that’s right, 55 years old!

Is Tony too old to be an effective instructor?

Are you kidding?

As Tony says, aging is for those who do not know better. Even in his fifties, Tony looks great.

His energy is high, and his mind is sharp. His workouts have stood the test of time as shown by the man himself. I’d rather have someone like Tony who’s been doing the real deal and keeping the results.

He’s also refined the workouts and added the newest techniques. You know he’s tried out what works and what doesn’t and has presented you with the very best.

No time, or haven’t worked out in years?

P90X3 is the best workout routine of the P90X series hands down.

It’s only 30 minutes which makes it snap to fit into any schedule.

You can follow at your own pace, and work your way up in terms of reps, sets, or depth of stretches. Having done the earlier workouts, p90x3 is the best set, and most challenging set of the workouts. Intensity, my friends. You put into it…well you know the rest.

Bring it!

Tony’s workouts have made a difference in the lives of countless people across the world.

The exercises make use of your body and mother earth.

P90x3 is top notch that gives you the workout of your life without undue stress on the joints (and lots of jumping like other workouts). It’s dynamic, varied, and knocks the competition out of the park. Tony’s been doing this for years, and each workout set has gotten better and better. p90x3 is an awesome pick.

Check out what other people are saying on Amazon about it:

“I work my butt off in 30 minutes doing these workouts. I’ve also lost weight and see a noticeable difference in only 4 short weeks.”

“Perfect Workout”

“fabulous! t25 vs. p90x3 vs p90x vs insanity – if i had only one, would be p90x3”

I think that the above question is fair comment. A qualified response is only possible if you just happen to be fully fit and have had extensive experience working out on at least one of the abovementioned P90 models. But then again, would it not have been better for you to draw your own conclusions if you’ve been equipped and experienced enough to work out on both. Not an easy assignment if you’re a beginner.

Why We Are Looking At 13 Differences Between P90x vs P90x3

And that’s why we are here.

Both p90x and p90x3 are solid home workout programs that have the potential to deliver alot to the user (depending on if you actually use it!) the P90x workout program was the first in a line of three p90x products with p90x2 and p90x3 being released a few years apart. I feel that both p90x and p90x3 have a lot to offer yet there are some stark differnces that may not be known to quite a few people when they are looking into the potential of going out and purchasing any of the p90x lines. And with p90x being the start of the lines and p90x3 being the end which one is the one to go for if you are looking to get into serious shape with the help of either one of thes?. By giving you at least a basic intro to the 13 differences between p90x vs p90x3 I’m sure that you’ll be able to make fair way of deciding whether to purchase one of the programs or not. I begin by addressing the danger of being too subjective and remind you once more by confirming my intention to be as objective and neutral as possible. And before we go on to the now familiar compare and contrast exercise, it’s necessary to tell you a bit about each and what and how it should be used.

Acting on the hunch and how this was done

Instinct and experience told me that there would be no vast difference between the two programs. To avoid being cynical and veering towards subjectivity, I would have had to tryout these programs myself. But I have neither the time nor the energy these days. So, to give you as honest a review as possible, I have settled on what others have already said.

What was the result?

The net result of this honesty is that I am presenting you with as accurate an analysis as possible. Furthermore, I have not relied entirely on what one guy is saying. Remember, I’m trying my best to be un-biased. This is an undertaking. No promotional value is inherent from this compare and contrast exercise. Some of what I may have said may appear to be vague and generalized, but I’m okay with that.

Because at the end of the day, you’ve got to use your own noodle.

So Then, What Is P90x?

What I like about this program is that it is at least user-friendly, because – surprise, surprise – not everyone can read. But you can. You’re reading this now, aren’t you? And I strongly encourage you to do more of it. What use is it having a well-developed bod when you’re, like brain dead. Good food for the brain. Good food for the soul. Anyhow, this is a user-friendly DVD pack. Just slot it into your laptop and see how.

Here’s some of its primary features. And a friendly warning before I list these. It might not be ideal for a straight up overweight beginner who still needs to be checked out by his MD.

  • Intense 90-day program with no time off.
  • Each workout lasts around an hour and a half.
  • You’re required to take a fitness test before you start because the listed exercises are extreme.
  • There’s a progress tracker included.

And this I like. Read on, chaps. A one-hundred-page fitness guide. And over one hundred pages on putting together a healthy eating plan. So; ha…ha…ha. Looks like you’re going to be reading after all. While the entire pack is not going to set you back more than a hundred bucks, you’re going to have to make sure you’ve at least got your old school workout kit together. Dumbbells, pull up bar, resistance bands and an exercise mat.

Nothing more than that. Sure you can manage?

What Is P90x3?

Here is a brief intro to the pack that follows the previous program.

  • User-friendly DVD base kit.
  • Entire workout demo but in less the time than previously.
  • 16 extreme 30 minute workouts have been included.
  • Also included to the pack are – fitness guide, nutrition plan & workout calendar.
  • An added bonus is the 24/7 online support.

Studies show that the most dramatic body transformations happen in the first 30 minutes of exercise.

Correct Approach To Reps And Sets

Before taking into account 13 differences between p90x vs p90x3 it is worthwhile pointing this out. Long before P90X3, I had already practicing this concept, and certainly in my earliest days, I was never entirely aware of the positive spin-off of what I was doing. As it goes in life, as working men, we don’t always have time for a full hour and half of training. But we are determined to put more meat on the bones.

And, so what do we do? We push on, even it means working out for a mere thirty minutes. Turns out, effectively enough that this precious thirty minutes of your time turns out to be a blessing in disguise. Manna from heaven. Because…

“Studies show that the most dramatic body transformations happen in the first 30 minutes of exercise”.

The Rules Of The Game Are Quite Simple

And there you have it. Easy, no? Speaking of which, the rules of the game are fairly simple. All you have to do is just follow them already. These will have been included in your DVD pack. They are practical – which means that they can be followed. So, there is no sense in making excuses when you go and injure yourself, part of which was because you stupidly elected to not make use of the ten minutes provided for stretching exercises.

Play By The Rules And Enjoy The Results

Five minutes before. And five minutes after. What could be hard about that? Another rule of the P90X game is to be consistent. You have been given, say, ninety days, so never miss a day of training. Do that and don’t come back blaming the program’s instructors if you have not achieved the ‘promised’ results. See it like this. You never miss a day of school. And you get your high school diploma.

You never miss a day of work, and down the line, you get promoted. Don’t skip any of the listed 13 differences between p90x vs p90x3 either. Enjoy your further reading.

Does P90x Get The Final Vote Or Will P90x3 Top The Charts?

Only one way to find out. Go through this list and decide for yourself.

  1. P90x3 Give You More Recovery Time Than P90x

And they also need to give their bodies time to recover from other physical pursuits. I have said this before. Old school routine is good for you, both physically and mentally. But fair enough, not every millennial of today has the patience and interest in that. Being a fairly creative guy myself, I can well understand this. And so it turns out then that the P90X3 offers you more variety than the older P90X does.

  1. The P90X Workout Lasts longer Than The P90X3 workout.

What really makes the difference in this area? It has been found that a more extreme workout done in a shorter period of time has the potential to yield far more effective results. And in quicker time too. Either way, the P90X3 program favors those who cannot devote more than an hour of training in their busy day.

  1. P90X3 Is An Easier Program To Complete

For one thing it only takes around thirty minutes to get through, give or take. But as to it really being easier to complete? Well, I can’t even say; maybe for me but not for you. That would be dishonest. Just where are you in your health and fitness regime right now? And are you just starting out? Like, right for the very first time? Then I gather that you are going to battle, just a little bit. All depends on you and your dedication.

  1. P90X Will Be A Better Strength Provider

So they say, with one argument being that the workouts on this program are considerably longer to get through. Interestingly enough, both the P90X and the P90X3 last a total of 90 days. But if I may speak from experience. Having always been a bit of a slow and meticulous guy in the gym, I can vouch for the slow burning effect.

  1. P90x Can Help Your Abs Get Ripped With The Included Ab Ripper Module

Those who are looking to pack in more muscle will be looking to use the P90X. That’s because it’s got what they call an ab ripper included. It is featured as an important part of your weekly workout. So, if you are looking to get shredded abs whilst toning and getting muscle definition p90x could be something to look into for this reason.

  1. P90x3 Is A Complete All-Round High Intensity Program

Because it is a 30-minute zipper, the P90X3 ticks all the boxes as a strength, endurance, and stamina boxer. In order to stick to the schedule, you really have to work at it. And you are quite literally out of breath by the time you are done. It is like trying to run 5 miles in 25 minutes flat.

  1. P90x3 Is A More Effective Fat Burning Program

Owing to the speed of the workout and the length of time it takes you to get through it, it makes sense that the P90X3 is going to be more effective in helping you to burn off fat quicker. Here I cannot argue because there are test results out proving the case.

  1. P90x3 May Be More Challenging To Complete For Some…

One reviewer suggests that the challenge of trying to get through the P90X3 is the best feature of the program. You could not argue with that. As for sheer enjoyment, you can argue with that. It all depends on your level of fitness. If money is no option, I’d buy both programs. Work the p90X first. And then after a short interval, challenge yourself with the p90x3.

  1. No Personal Coaching In P90x3

Those of you who are just starting out and really do not have a clue may have a preference for the P90X. That’s because it’s even got its own coach. The excuse given for the P90X3 not including this handy tool is that there is simply not time for this in a thirty-minute workout. So, before using the P90X3, you’ll want to study all guidelines before you start.

  1. P90x3 Is The Better ‘All-Rounder’

The same reviewer suggests that the P90X3 is, overall, the better program to work out on. You would not normally disagree with a qualified statement, and it is alleged that a majority of customers are agreeing to this. But I have to come in and argue at some point. What about the countless thousands reading this right now and willing to give these programs a tryout for the first time ever. As in first time ever doing exercise. Logically speaking, P90X would have made sense for a beginner. But even so, it is still going to be intense over 90 days, and I would argue for something a lot more low-key for the beginners.

  1. P90x3 Would Be The Better Option To Go For Over P90x

No, seriously. Never mind which program you elect to work out on, it will be better if you try out on the P90X3 program – It has already been scientifically proven that this form of high intensity training in such a short space of time yield far more effective results from both the strength and endurance point of view. But if you are going to be more focused on building and toning muscles, and looking good, then P90X at an hour and half of training per session is the way to go.

P90x3 Workout Sheets

  1. P90x3 Does Not Require The Use Of Much Equipment Like P90x Does

Funny thing this; both programs have been developed by and are touted by Beach Body – fingers crossed that we will be talking a bit more about this and that program in a lot more detail during an up and coming series – and what does Beach Body encourage you to do? Hmm. Any guesses? Why spend time outdoors. Bam – boom – bang! And there you have it from the guy who loves being outdoors. And the beautiful thing about P90x3 is that you don’t need to be lugging around full sets of dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells and the list could literally go on. P90x3 is a more streamlined, a stripped-down high intensity version in which I mean you could literally take some good quality resistance bands and start doing the p90x3 program outdoors! Honestly such a beautiful feeling instead of being

  1. So, What Should You Choose? P90x Or P90x3?

How to approach these programs then? To be fair to you, the manufacturers as well as the promoters of these products, the most important differences are down to you. Focus on P90X if you want to build muscle and strength. Focus on P90X3 if you’re after high endurance and anaerobic performance results.

It was time well spent on the 13 differences between p90x vs p90x3, wouldn’t you think? See you round the corner where I’ll be chatting to about another beach body home program comparison when we take a look at p90x vs bodybeast.
